Conversation outline

An outline of the questions you asked, docked beside the chat. Click one to jump straight to it, even in very long chats — or switch it to list the replies' headings.

  • Lists every question in the chat, not just the few ChatGPT keeps on screen
  • Search the full text of your questions
  • Dock it left or right, or use a draggable button on narrow windows

Message queue

No need to wait for ChatGPT to finish. Type your next message, press Ctrl+Enter, and it is sent as soon as the answer ends.

  • Ctrl+Enter (⌘+Enter on Mac) while ChatGPT is answering
  • Remove, pause or clear queued messages
  • Never overwrites what you are typing

Smart copy

When a reply has interactive cards, charts or calculators, copy the whole reply in one click: text stays text, and each interactive part becomes an image.

  • Keeps the reply's order, as rich text and Markdown
  • Paste it straight into documents and notes apps
  • Off by default: switch it on in the popup

Bulk archive & delete

Select chats in the sidebar and archive or delete them together, instead of one menu at a time.

Bulk image download

When one reply has several images, pick the ones you want and save the original files to a folder in one go.

  • Select all, none, or Shift+click a range
  • Saves in parallel with per-image progress and retry
  • Also works in the full-screen image viewer, and never overwrites files

Privacy

Your chats stay with you

  • We never see your chats

    Nothing is sent to us. No analytics, no ads, no tracking.

  • Your sign-in stays in the page

    For long chats and image lists the extension asks chatgpt.com with your current sign-in. The token is kept in page memory only and never stored.

  • Every tool can be switched off

    Turn tools off one by one in the popup. Switching the outline off also deletes its local cache.

Frequently asked questions

Is it free?

Yes, every feature is free. The popup has an optional tip section; tipping doesn't unlock anything.

What does it read? Is it safe?

It runs only on chatgpt.com. The outline reads the text of your own questions (and, in headings mode, the replies' headings), image download reads the image list and image files, smart copy reads a reply only when you click its button, and bulk actions read the chat titles in the sidebar. Apart from requests to chatgpt.com and, for smart copy, photos from images.openai.com, nothing leaves your browser.

Is this made by OpenAI?

No. Toolbelt is an independent project, not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI.

Which languages does the extension's interface support?

14 languages: English, Español, Deutsch, Français, Português, 日本語, 한국어, Tiếng Việt, Italiano, 简体中文, 繁體中文, Polski, Türkçe, Bahasa Indonesia. It follows your browser language, and you can switch it in the popup.

Why don't I see the download button on an image?

The button appears only when one reply contains several images. For a single image, use ChatGPT's own download.

What happens when ChatGPT changes its design?

A redesign can briefly break a tool. Fixes ship through the Chrome Web Store, and Chrome updates the extension automatically.
